Yes folks, it’s true–on her fiftieth try, Danica Patrick has won her first IRL race, becoming the first woman to win a race in a major motorsports series on a closed circuit. She managed to stay among the leaders through most of the race, showing us what we already knew–that the woman is a very competitive racer. When the time came, pit strategy made the difference, and she was able to take advantage of the positioning she earned to win the race on fuel strategy.
