This week has been interesting where NASCAR is concerned. Where should we begin?
- There were rumors circulating that Jamie McMurrary was out at Roush-Fenway racing. Both denied the reports, but really? Do you believe them?
- It was announced that Verizon bought out Alltel, which could cause another AT&T vs. NASCAR-like battle. It could also play a huge role in Ryan Newman who is in his contract year with Penske Racing.
- Tony Stewart won his own charity race, taking the checkered flag at the fourth annual Prelude to the Dream at Eldora.
- Casey Mears slyly mentioned in a press release that he is expecting his first child with his girlfriend.
- Has anybody else noticed something growing on Chad Knaus’ head lately?
Of course, with Kasey Kahne taking his second checkered flag of the year in a points-paying race, some fan favorites had a horrible day including Stewart who has his third bad race in a row. He has also fallen to 12th in the points.
How will this help his contract negotiations with Joe Gibbs Racing?

Tony’s misfortune is my fault. I commented a few weeks ago that bad luck doesn’t stick to him like it does to other drivers, and look at what happened! And I keep saying I’m not superstitious. My bad.
I have been more apt to wonder about Jimmie Johnson’s Beatles haircut than about Knaus’s hair.
