As NASCAR’s Silly Season gets off and running, I, too, have made my first “signing” of 2008 by joining you all here on NASCAR Bloggers FT Digest. A special thanks to the Reverand for luring me here, and it’s a pleasure to be a part of this unique group.

That being said, for those of you who are familiar with my site, you know that once a week a write a “DYN Imposes” story in which I pose four questions to my readers relating to the chosen topic. The most recent of these to post has been about – what else – all of the contract talk that has already taken NASCAR by storm in this young season.

RevJim touched up on all of the talk surrounding Tony Stewart and his future with Joe Gibbs Racing a few days ago right here with his Bits From Our Bloggers post, but really, as we all know, it goes much, much deeper than that. It’s been years (if ever) since so many high-profile stars in the NASCAR ranks all seemed to have their contracts come to a close in the same year, and it may be awhile before it happens again.

Former Cup Champions in Stewart and Bobby LaBonte are both potentially available, and then there are the typical Chase contenders in Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle, Ryan Newman, and Martin Truex Jr. Sponsors are running all over the place trying to keep up, and several teams have mentioned the word “release.”

Be sure to head over to www.doyounascar.com and check out my latest post, Let’s Talk Contracts, where I recap some of what’s already taken place and rehash some of these nasty little rumors.
